Our History
Over the years there have been many expansions including several new greenhouses and retail boutique. Growth is a lifelong commitment and one we hope to continue to do for years to come. Not only in the growth of the business and products, but services to the people and community we are so grateful to be a part of.
A&W to Greenhouse
For some of the older generation, our exit may feel familiar as it was once an A &W Drive-In Restaurant. There is still a small piece of the restaurant on the property. Over the years the property changed hands and was turned into a greenhouse business.
2001 Sowers Purchase
Beverly (Bev) and her son J Sowers purchased the Green Thumb Greenhouse. They renamed it to Beaver Meadow Garden Center. The name Beaver Meadow comes from their Scottish heritage and is the meaning of Beverly’s name.
2013 Beverly Transitions Ownership
J and his wife, Janelle, took over full ownership of the business. Bev continued to work at the greenhouse, a place she loved to be, until 2022 when she retired.
2023 J and Janelle a Growing Family
In 2023, Janelle left the organization she worked for to help J full time at the greenhouse. We have 3 sons, who have grown up helping out at the greenhouse. We are so thankful for our dedicated staff, family, and community. They all play and integral part in why we do what we do and help our business to succeed.
